Last Monday my spunky little Cosette turned four.
Spunky, yes.
This girl has more passion than her little body can handle sometimes. Small and mighty, she is.
A natural born leader.
She certainly won't let people push her around.
There are some pitfalls to her BIG personality that have been an opportunity for ME to grow and adapt to her. God gave me a challenge with her and as I am learning He is shaping ME along the way.
She also has a nurturing side to her which is so fun to watch when she lets it out. She loves helping her sister do things and Javan says she is the best "mommy" when they play "house. (Yes, Javan is usually the baby when they play house. He says its so fun because they "pamper" him haha).
Even though she can be bold sometimes, she responds really well to structure and organization (which may be one additional area that God will use to mold ME when we start kindergarten). She is also silly and intuitive.
She is a daddy's girl through and through. It is precious to see her with Lance. Their bond is something I can't even put into words. I'm so thankful she has such a wonderful daddy.
Her birthday week(S) really started at Thanksgiving. On Thanksgiving day we spent the day with Shane and Shana and the crew. It was a good time, as always.
Some day Cosette will kill me for posting this picture, but its too cute not to share. Relaxing on the potty after a big Thanksgiving dinner!
The following weekend we had Thanksgiving with Lance's family.
Of course Cosette has got to hold baby Braylee
and read to Journey
She got lots of gifts from Lance's side.. playdough from Aunt Katie and Uncle Jessie
Dress up stuff and Perler beads from Aunt Crystal and Uncle Adam
She also got a cute piggie bank from Grandpa and Gigi
Aunt Shana and Uncle Shane gave her a bunch of craft stuff which she (and Violet) had a blast with
Her birthday fell on our Classical Conversations community day. She got to bring in treats for her class and they sang happy birthday to her.
When we got home she opened her gift from Aunt Kim and Uncle JR. A fun game!
Tuesday we went to our friends house and had a play date. It was really a play day for Javan with his buddy Eli (age 10) but there is something special about this boy that my girls just LOVE. So, spending the day with Eli was a super special treat.
Wednesday we got Mom-mom's box of goodies.
a remote control doggie toy
Two new outfits and some jammies, Jewelry, furniture for her dollhouse, A pretty canopy to put over her bed, moon sand.... and some gifts for her mommy too ;-)
Thursday we went to our friends house to celebrate her birthday and their son Adrian's birthday (he turned 3 on Friday). They sang happy birthday and made cupcakes and then played outside in the gorgeous 60 degree weather we happen to have.
Like that wasn't enough birthday fun on FRIDAY we went to Crown Center and saw Santa
Then walked over to Union Station to the Theater of Young America to see the play "The Best Christmas Pagent Ever."
I am so so so thankful that my parents instilled a love to theater in me. Some of my fondest memories are going to Shawnee playhouse all summer long to see their plays. I am also so thankful that there are so many playhouses in Kansas City that offer "school shows" with discounted rates. In fact, we are going to another show this Friday.
Cosette, Violet in back
Javan , Eli, and Jeremy
Then the fun continues on SATURDAY we went to Lance's work Christmas party. Unfortunately, Lance had to work but we still had a good time.
They had people there doing Caricatures. Javan (obviously) in back. Cosette on the left and Violet on right.
Sunday Lance and I took the kids to see Polar Express on the Extreme Screen at Union Station.
THEN on Monday we had our Classical Conversations Christmas party and she got to do some crafts and had lots of yummy treats. I don't have any pictures from this day (I was managing my class most of the time) but I assure you... it was a fun day.
So, there you have it. She had quite a birthday week(S).
While I'm posting here are some other pictures from my phone.
Javan, may pick on his sisters from time but all in all he is a great big brother.
I have pictures to prove it!
Storytime at the library. She would rather sit in the back and read with her brother.
We made pretzels together and Javan made letters for the girls names.
