Puppetry institute

On Wednesday we went on a field trip to the Puppetry institute of art. Javan got to paint and create his own puppet and then they put on a puppet show.

It was a really neat experience...much better than I expected.

Meanwhile, Cosette made a friend. She enjoyed giving him kisses, poking his eyes and knocking him over. It was big fun. Lol

Kansas is a little confused

Its in like a lion out like a lamb. Not the other way around.

Javan was "helping" shovel like a dog...
Here is a little video of him "shoveling" of course, he was doing it so much he was a little tired so he only did it for a second.

So glad to have Lance around to shovel for me.
Let's hope he doesn't hurt his back again - this new chiro is going to LOVE us. haha

Speaking of video's ... I found this one on Lance's phone from last week.
See how weird you can get when you are living on zero sleep.

The Jake Event

Today Javan and Lance got up bright and early and headed to "The Jake Event".

The description said:

There will be trap shooting, turkey calling, archery, how to pattern a shotgun and more....there are tons of door prizes and each child will receive their own turkey call plus other goodies. They will get donuts and juice in the morning and burgers and chips and drinks for lunch...(and let me tell u I know the 'grillman' and his burgers are good:)

But, we weren't really sure what to expect.

Well... Both Javan and Lance both had a great time. Javan came home with 3 or 4 different turkey calls (THAT was a joy on the ears.... like two babies crying at the same time wasn't enough noise for this house) and Lance said he actually learned quite a bit. He's all ready for his big Turkey hunt next month.

It was very cold and threatened to snow so the even was moved to inside. That didn't stop them from having a great time!  The picture above is him "fishing"

Javan's first ever chance to use a bow
 Javan's first ever shooting experience.
He's hooked :-) Pop-pop is proud!

This guy is using the lathe to make a crow call.

And here's a video of Javan shooting his first gun.
Lance says its a 410 shot gun.
It sure did have a kick for his little body.

These are from last friday when it was sunny and warm.

Today it snowed... looking forward to those sunny days again :-)

I can't explain exactly what was going on here.
I know it looks like she is yawning but she kept trying to eat the grass
and then making this funny "yuck" face.

inspecting the grass....

Trying to eat it again

My all time favorite pic

Mommy was doing some sewing and she wanted to help

She just sat and watched

I love her expressions in all of these pics so I couldn't just narrow it down to one. lol

Javan LOVES being the big brother!

He thought it would be funny to pretend to be stuck on the railroad tracks haha

On the way home we decided to make a little stop at Aunt Shana's :)

Baby Dedication Words

At the girl's dedication the congregation was asked to write down any words of encouragement or words that the Lord spoke to them to share with our family.

Ferris Family - March 3, 2013

Cosette, and Violet Ferris were dedicated by their parents, Lance & Merrie Ferris on March 3, 2013. These are the words of encouragement from the congregation:

Javan, Cosette and Violet

I hear the voice of the LORD say: Walk with Me.  Stay close by My side and I will direct your steps.  You have nothing to fear for I will uphold you by My righteous right hand.  You are-each one of you-precious in My sight and I have called you to be My faithful witnesses.  Stay connected with Me in thought, word and deed, for I will never leave you or forsake you.  From the day I formed you in My mind until the day you were formed in your mother's womb until the day you were born on earth, I have loved you with an everlasting love.  Choose to be in close relationship with Me, as I choose to be in close relationship with you.  We will do marvelous works together."

Scriptures: Psalm 91, Psalm 27, Psalm 56:3-4; Isaiah 12:2, 41:10 and 13; Jeremiah 31:3; Psalm 37:1-8,23; Romans 12:1-2; Ephesians 3:14-21.

Remember to always not only tell your children you love them but to show them!  Everyday counts!  They grow up so fast so cherish the love you share!

There will always be lots of good, caring people around who are willing to help as you raise your kids, but remember that God prepared and equipped you specifically to be the parents your children need.

A sweet smelling aroma unto the Lord, Violet and the Family.

The antidote to pessimism isn't optimism.  The only cure is contentment in God. (David Nasser)

Blessings to your beautiful family!

Patience

God only puts weight on the shoulders that he knows can handle it.

Pray you walk in the truth and light.  Joy, love, journey!

"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."  -Philippians 4:13

Violet-filled with passion.  May the Lord bless you with a ministry filled with passion.

I saw a dove and your family was riding on it.  Above the clouds.  Soaring and having so much fun.  High above the storm and the trouble.  Praying that your family would know His peace in those times of trouble.

Blessings,

Violet Dawn 2 months

I can't believe that Violet it already almost 2 months old.
The time went by so fast with the extended NICU stay, the craziness with the diabetes conundrum, and getting adjusted with having 2 babies and a child I'm supposed to be homeschooling.

Last night, I sat on the couch with Lance and realized that FINALLY things are coming together.

It feels good.

Although the diabetes mystery is still there.. I'm getting closer and closer to figuring it all out, I've finally got a pretty good routine down with the kids AND we are all caught up with our homeschool.

I took a couple of pics yesterday of our little (er, um, big) Violet.

At 2 months old, I still really appreciate my sleep. Its pretty hard for me to open my eyes when I wake up and I really don't like to be awake for more than 40 min at a time.

(Mommy thanks God that I'm such an easy baby - He must have known that was all she could handle)

When I am awake, I've recently been checking things out around me.
I have bright blue eyes and the light sometimes makes it hard to look around too much

I like to pull my own hair.
Its part of my daily routine to toughen myself up
Sometimes I do it a few times a day

It always makes me cry.

Every once in a while I crack a smile at my mom and dad

But, mom is never quick enough to get the camera

My brother loves me very much and likes to hold me often

Every once in a while he tried to carry me around.

My usually yelps and tells him that I'm too fragile for that.

My sister loves me lots but is always poking my eyes, nose and mouth

She likes to give me lots of kisses

I like them but sometimes she is just a little too rough and it makes me cry

Then she usually pats my tummy to make me feel better

But her "pats" are really borderline "hitting"

and it makes me cry

Mom took lots more pictures but tried to limit it to her favorite few.
