Zoo!
One of our friends (who will soon be moving... probably this month :-( This seems to continue to happen to us!) invited us to go to the zoo for their son's 5th birthday. It was a lot of fun. A BEAUTIFUL perfect day with sun and nice early fall weather. Javan had so much fun! Posting pictures soon....
Yesterday we went to a new small group. It looks like we will be joining this group and we are both really excited about it!! 2 families have 4 year old GIRLS (still struggling to find friends for Jav that are boys but what can you do...) Javan had a lot of fun with his new friends yesterday.

Labor day weekend fun!
Well, we had quite the busy Labor day weekend!
Friday night we went to the Kansas City Irish Festival at Crown Center. Lots of good food and music and we got Javan an all evening pass to the inflatable jumping rides. It was great because we went with some new friends Adam and Angela (I babysit for their baby, Harrison) and its nice to begin to develop a friendship with them. He had a BLAST.
Saturday morning, I already blogged about Angela and I went farmers marketing and Javan and Lance went to the home depot workshop. Afterwards Javan went to our new babysitter's house, Nancy. Nancy has a little daughter named Alex and a small daycare in her home so they played and played and did crafts and I was really happy to have Javan there while we went to Lance's friends wedding. The wedding was a golf theme and it was on a golf course. They had the most spectacular weather for an outdoor wedding and it was, of course, beautiful! After the cake cutting at the reception, Lance and I left and went for a walk around the golf course... a looong walk... in the dark...didn't really think that one through. haha. But we had fun (even thought we got a *little* bit lost on the paths :-) It was so nice to have some time to talk and enjoy the quiet.
Sunday was housework day :-) Lance put vents in our soffits while I stood at the bottom of the REALLY tall ladder (like I'm going to actually be able to do anything if her fell...haha) Then we touched up some paint and Lance painted our mailbox. The exterior of the house is really looking nice now.
Monday we went to the Renaissance festival and met up Shane and Shana there. Sooo fun and the weather was perfect! On the way back we decided to skip the home cooked meal and hit Ruby Tuesdays. We were pleasantly surprised to find out that between 3-6 everyday its 1/2 price appetizers. So, we got a nice meal for only $15 including the tip!!!
Today Chad picked up Javan, so its just me and Harrison :-) I've already had the highlight of my day when Javan gave me a hug goodbye he sweetly whispered in my ear "I agape love you, mommy" Which isn't something Javan always says to me... its like he knew I needed to hear that today :-)
Now, off to cleaning and laundry....
I will post some pics soon. My waterbottle leaked in my bag at the festival yesterday and ruined our brand new camera! Can't believe it! So, we have to take it back to the store today and hope we can return it. When we get a new camera, I will post pics. In the meantime I have a few i can post that are from our phones.

Well check
Today Javan has his well check visit. In the car on the way there Javan said "I am the bravest in the world." I asked why and he explained that he's not afraid of "spiders, snakes, thunderstorms...." and he mentioned a few other things that I can't quite remember...
Anyway, healthy as a horse :-) 37.8 lbs 42.4 inches 57% for weight and 82% for height. The md told me that next year he has to get 4 shots before kindergarten so if I wanted to break them up and give him some this year, I can. I said... "No, I'd rather wait until he is a little older" she was fine with that and left the room to get something. While she was gone, Javan said .... "Am I going to get a shot today?" I told him "no, not until next year... unless you want to". Jav: "I'm brave, mommy" Me: "Ok, so you want a shot?"
And so he did....my brave little one got just ONE shot and did so great! No tears! He didn't like the bandaid though and the first thing he did was take it off in the car. he said that next year when he gets three shots he is going to take the bandaid off right away too!
Harrison!!!!!
I am constantly overhearing Javan yell "Harrison....!!!!" usually followed by a stop that or don't touch that or something along those lines...
Today it was....."I am TRYING to make the coolest fort in the WORLD [loudly screaming the word "world" and drawing it out so the word lasted a few seconds....] ....and you keep knocking it down!!!
Its almost as good as sibling rivalry... actually its better because Harrison goes home at the end of the day ;-)
And Javan says...
"...and then we will make it really dark and put on a movie and it will be as COOL AS ICE..... "
Pretty sure this song isn't in my ipod so I'm not sure where he got it from but it was hilarious.
In case you have never heard of the song cold as ice by Foreigner....

should I ever have low self esteem....
i don't think it is possible to have low self esteem when I'm hanging out with you and Lance. I think Lance's constant compliments are wearing off on you. haha.
Today I was looking at some pictures of a friends fb page and one popped up with me in it. You point to the picture and says "Who's that pretty girl?" and then looked at me with your adorable little grin. Love YOU!!

The things you say...
**Last night I was laying with you before bed and you leaned over and hugged me and said "Your beautiful, Mommy." I said ..."Aw, thank you" then you laid there and thought about it for a minute and said "Actually, your more beautiful than anything I've ever seen"
**Today we were talking about Lance's house and how we are trying to sell it to someone. I told you that when we sell Lance's house we might be able to sell our house. Javan asked where we will live. I said "well, we will buy a new house" and he goes "how will it fit?" How will what fit, Javan? "How will the house fit in the store??" hahaha.
boredom
This is Javan getting creative in the face of boredom. He created a fort out of our rocking chair (something that happens daily) and is "reading" in there.
